Well, in a nutshell, Amsterdam left me with memories of hash brownies, a canal cruise, sex on stage and eating a banana out of a girls vagina. Yes I just said that.
Amsterdam was one of the most crazy and amazing cities I have ever been to. As I drove in the buildings looked so strange and odd like the city had no real persona, more of a juxtaposed landscape with various buildings and trees. Then nighttime hit and the true colours of this city came out, canal cruises underneath bridges decorated with tourists, hotels lit with neon lights, and buildings with so much character I felt like I was in a storybook.
Cruising along the canal consisted of lots of wine and watching people go about the intimacy of their lives in boat houses, where privacy is simply a concept of the imagination. Once the cruise ended, the craziness began. Witnessing a sex show was one of the most interesting things I have ever seen… Don’t think I’m crazy but I found (some!!) Of the acts more empowering than anything else, the way they master the sexual function of their bodies and display it like art on a canvas. Other acts, not so artistic, consisted of me being pulled to the stage and having my head shoved into a girls vagina, forced to eat a banana out of this region. Well.. Only in Amsterdam.
Currently I am sitting on a tour bus with new people all around me, “your sex is on fire” is playing. Which is fitting because this used to be my favourite song when I was in school. When life isn’t stressful and you dream of meeting new people and travelling to new places, and look, I’m doing it!
How I got here; a few weeks ago I was sitting at work, things back home weren’t great (nan was unwell) and I had no accommodation in the upcoming week. I had been working in my new job for three weeks, it was serious, stressful and amazing at the same time. At this point I realised that my journey is directed by me, this point that I got to was all my decision and if it doesn’t feel right I can change my path as freely as I wish. It was such a surreal thought that I planned none of this and I am living in London, my life going from 100% stability to 0% stability and all adventure in the space of a few months. I realised that others options shouldn’t even enter my mind with what I chose to do.
So I decided that the next journey is due, therefore I jumped online and booked a 12 day tour around Europe! Because why not ya know.
Lets see how much this changes me as a person, my perspective on life is widening each and everyday and I’m so excited for life’s adventure.
